Fast Loading Pages
One of the most common reasons that visitors do not stay at a website is that it takes too long to load. Each website needs to be designed to load as quickly as possible. To achieve this Magnetik will develop each website page to be fast-loading by using tightly written code and using highly compressed graphics. All images, graphics and multimedia will be optimised to the appropriate size and quality to ensure that they load within a suitable time frame. We then conduct speed tests on all websites, to ensure that speed is as expected.
Technology Standards
Websites need to be compatible for viewing across a wide range of visitor platforms and browsers. All Magnetik websites are developed for viewing at a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels or greater. Magnetik develops websites to the following minimum browser versions: Internet Explorer 7, Firefox 3, Chrome 4, Safari 4 and Opera 10. For animation and/or multimedia, Magnetik develops primarily for the Flash 9 Player. A flash replacement is always implemented for non-Flash platforms such as the iPhone.
Usability & Accessibility
Usability essentially means that the website is intuitive and allows visitors to find what they are looking for quickly and without frustration. This includes careful consideration of navigational design, words and images used, and the structure of information. As internet usage rapidly changes, we continually conduct research on usability to ensure that the websites we build provide the best possible experience for visitors. Magnetik uses best-practices in usability and accessibility in the design of all websites.
Practical Interactivity
Interactivity is essentially what website visitors can do on a website, other than simply view it. Using interactivity to engage visitors and lead customers to your desired action is a substantial advantage of the internet. Visitors are much more likely to return to a website that has useful interactive features. Magnetik develops appropriate interactive features for the website as required.
Search Engine Readiness
As part of Magnetik’s development process, we ensure that the structure of the website lends itself to easy accessibility to the search engines for indexing and ranking. We also ensure that each web page has an appropriate title and meta tags and appropriate page names, headings and sub-headings. The meta tags are used to provide information about the web page when shown in search engine results. Titles, page names, headings and sub-headings help the search engines to rank pages appropriately. More extensive search engine optimisation services are also available.

Magnetik puts all websites through our proprietary 10-point website quality assurance test which includes: Functionality Testing, Spell Checking, Link Checking, W3C Standard XHTML and CSS validation, Section 508 Accessibility Validation, Cross Platform Testing, Target Browser Validation, Download Speed Testing, Search Engine Simulation, Title & Meta Tag Verification.
